Background

Susan grew up in Minnesota, spent her college years in State College, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.  It was her oil business career that originally brought her to Colorado where she worked for one of the major oil companies for 14 years.  Toward the end of this period, oil companies began to consolidate and sell their holdings, and her company relocated to the south and west.  She had two choices:  leave the business or leave the state.  She chose to stay in her beloved Colorado, and she's never regretted the decision.

She started her mountain life in 1990, and found real estate to be the perfect fit.  She had spent most of her time in the oil industry analyzing and evaluating oil producing property.  So, she brought to the table well-honed analytic and computer skills.  She's not unnerved by the ever-changing technology so critical to today's dynamic real estate market.  More importantly, she enjoys the daily, personal interaction with clients and business associates.

Her husband, Don Gunnin, joined her in 2004 as her business manager.  He has over two decades of experience in resort rental property management and brings to the table an experienced perspective of caring for rental property owners.  He well understands the needs and goals of the absentee property owner.

Family

In 1997, Susan and Don traveled to China and adopted one-year-old Tessa, and their lives changed drastically, to say the least!  Tessa is an excellent fifth-grade student, and has become a talented gymnast.  In 2005, at the Colorado State championships for CARA gymnastics, she placed 1st in Balance Beam, 1st in Vault, 4th in Floor Exercise and 5th in Uneven Bars.  She tied for 1st, All Around, but settled for the Silver Medal in a tie breaker in her age group.

The Gunnins have a cat, Little Ninja, and Tessa enjoys her two hamsters, Stella and Bella.

They live on the side of a mountain, almost two miles above sea level, facing west towards the Ten Mile Range, some of the mountains of which make up the Breckenridge Ski Area. 

They enjoy all the typical mountain activities of biking, hiking, skiing -- but mostly they enjoy simply being able to spend their days in the Rocky Mountains, one of the most pristine environments possible.
